Annoying coworkers

May 17th, 2008 at 02:39 am

Have you guys ever had annoying co-workers? Oh my god, it was so hard for me to stop myself from snapping today. I know annoying co-workers are everywhere, but I feel like in my case, it's most of them. Time to leave. Ugh. There is this one girl at work who likes to talk about food all the time. Ok good for her that she loves her food, but she is always standing over another girl's cubicle and they are both giggling and talking in high pitched voice about food!! I mean yeah I like my share of Chinese food too, but to talk about it in almost an obscene way! No, I am not crazy, they really do that! This girl even goes out of her way to get food from her favorite food places during lunch hour, sometimes taking more time than the alloted* lunch time. Doesn't she eat enough Chinese food at her own house? (She is Chinese)
And then there are two grown men who are always making inappropriate jokes and giggling like silly school girls. UGH! It's all true. I am not making them up. I work at a freaking circus. Man, I just wanted to slap them all silly today.
Sorry I didn't mean to be all bitchy and all, just a bad day today. I should just go to sleep and hope for a better day tomorrow.

I feel your pain, I have one on my job and it appears as though the owner finally had a little chat with her because it looks like she's doing what she is suppose to which use to annoy the you know what out of me. She would be on the phone with her boyfriend the entire 10 hours that we work and she lives with him, how much can you talk about? Good luck

I work with a woman who is literally robbing the government blind. Drives me crazy! She has two daughters, and gets an obscene amount of money each month in food stamps. I am also a single mom, and my coworker will often tell me I don't know how to "work the system", and how "nice" it must be to go to Disney as often as we do. Both of her children are on state supplemented daycare ... which she has almost lost on more than one occasion b/c she doesn't work the required 20 hours per week. She is also dating a "great guy" but won't marry him (or even consider it) b/c she would loose all of her help ... her words, not mine.

She drives me nuts! To me ... I would rather pick up a second job than get government assistance. I know it is there for people who truely need it, but I don't think I am one of those people. Not that I am stubborn, or anything like that ... I just truely believe there are people out there who need the help more than I do. I also work .. A LOT ... which is a foreign concept to this chic ... which is how I pay for most of our things. I also have a pretty amazing set of parents, which she likes to tell me all the time how jealous she is that they "buy us so much stuff." I've learned to block her out.

I have a lot of WEIRD coworkers ... but I'm a server, so that is to be expected. I won't even go into the one who told me the other day I must be miserable since I am so "overweight." LOL ... sigh.

Yuou must be misberable b/c you are over weight? are you kidding me? Did you ask him/her a rude question like you must be miserable from being so ugly or stink?hmmmm unbelievable
This is the problem with welfare recipients that I have, they always feel as though they are "beating the system" it drives me nuts. Years ago when my mom was not working she could not get any assistance because she had $5k in the bank saved for a rainy day~like her lay off, but yet denied, even though she would have blew through the $5k in a few months (mortgage, car payments etc)But she found a job, thank goodness. And then there is my mom friend who goes through all this paper work to get $10 in food stamp and she thinks she's beating the system

I'm posting this only because I am at home and not where my coworker can see me, but yeah she's annoying. She has allergies and clears her throat, I kid you not, every forty-five seconds. She also has a 3500 sq. ft house, a condo in an expensive city in another country, a Ford Expedition, and says things like "it must be nice to be rich" or "oh woe is me gas is expensive." She and another coworker take SIX WEEK VACATIONS IN EUROPE and moan "oh I wish I were rich." Oh poor baby with the $750K house and $400K condo, life must be so sad for you... to be able to afford real estate but not allergy medications...

She did NOT say you must be so miserable cuz you are overweight!! Oh my god, I would have bitch slapped her right then and there!! I am sorry that you guys have annoying co-workers as well. I thought it was only ME! I was beginning to wonder if the problem was ME!! Paulette, I also have co-workers who constantly clear their throat and sneeze. There is this one guy - every time he sneezes, which he does A LOT, it sounds like his brain is going to ooze out of his ears! I kid you not!

Dear Paulette & Miss Busy Body - 1st you commiserate w/Reginaastralis about someone calling her overweight, but you both have the unmitigatged gall to be snide about people with allergies, as if they have any control over their suffering? Some people cannot take a lot of allergy medications for different reasons; allergic to the allery medications themselves, the meds not working for them, meds making them too drowsy (even the undrowsy ones), etc.

Don't commiserate with someone about 'bitchy remarks' if you're going to turn around and do the same, particularly behind the person's back.

At least Reginaastralis had the opportunity (taken or not) to say something to her attacker - the ones you've gossiped about, did not.

Reginaastralis - next time some one says something about your weight, or anything else offensive, don't hold back - give as good as you get whether it's 'politically correct' or not. AT LEAST SAY SOMETHING!
